I don't know if that's true. But everywhere I listen I hear some band somewhere covering MGMT's 'Kids.' It's a good F'n song! I like it when MGMT does it. I also really like The Kooks version. This one above is Jack's Mannequin. I don''t really like these guys, because they sound like they are playing to 12-year-old girls, and I'm not 12 or a girl. But give it a listen. You might like it.
