Hunter S. Thompson Will Be Back On The Big Screen

Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson will once again be played by Johnny Depp in another film, The Rum Diary. Johnny will play Hunter's alter ego Paul Kemp. Paul is a newspaper reporter who moves from New York to Puerto Rico for work. The plot centers around "a tangled love story of jealousy, treachery and violent alcoholic lust among the American expatriates who staff the newspaper."

And here's the casting notice for the young lady Johnny falls in love with:

A beautiful, 25 year old, translucent vision from Connecticut, with a killer smile and a wry, enigmatic personality, she wears barely-there sarongs, sunbathes nude, and oozes sexuality in everything she does. She enchants and mesmerizes Kemp from the moment they meet: while both escaping a tedious, high-end party. Chenault is dating and possibly engaged to Sanderson, but clearly feels an attraction to Kemp. She’s a daredevil who loves to dance and drive fast. She gets into big trouble with a lust-crazed, violent crowd during Carnival in St. Thomas. .. LEAD. This role contains nudity.

Sounds pretty fun.
